Chased the Northern Tablelands and Granite Belt regions on 24 January 2009. This was a low shear, high CAPE setup that produced some spectacular cumulonimbus structures. The evening provided some lightning photography opportunities, mainly west of Warwick, though the first picture shows a shelf cloud structure with lightning crossing into QLD from NSW near Killarney. Storms generally moved towards the NNW today.

A late season storm chase into the Clarence River resulted in some ok storms around Grafton on 15th March 2009. Although no severe weather was encountered thunderstorms persisted into the evening allowing for some lightning photography.

A small storm cell to the east of my place in the direction of Ballina gave off some in-cloud lightning. It was not electrically active enough to be bothered finding a better vantage point on this occasion - give it was taken at just after 1am!

Storms spreads into the region during the evening are well positioned to take some lightning shots from home at McLeans Ridges, NSW. These were taken on 17th April 2009 - and this ended up being the last lightning show until mid November.
